My name is Rimon Hansda, a Class 9 student at Children Village. I’m grateful for the opportunity to study here, where I learn and practice new things daily. The poetry writing sessions inspire me greatly, and I've developed a passion for writing poetry with help from our supportive teachers.

A New Beginning for Shimon
Shimon Mandol was born in Kurulia village, Ujirpur Upazila, Barisal District. His parents are Shamol Mandol, who has a speech impairment, and Kamala Mandol. Shimon also has a younger sister. Their tiny home, made of tin sheds, bamboo, and hogla leaf fences, sits on someone else’s land as they own no property. His mother works as a day laborer, often taking Shimon’s three-year-old sister with her. The family relies entirely on her meager income.
At age five, Shimon was admitted to International Needs Bethany Children’s Village due to poor health. Initially, he struggled with basic tasks like feeding himself and dressing. However, he gradually improved, learning to eat and interact with other children. Now in Class 2, Shimon excels academically and is known for his neatness and humility. He actively participates in prayer meetings and Sunday school. Shimon’s improved health and education are thanks to International Needs, and he is grateful for the support and opportunities provided.
