Sano Diyo

Through the love, care and dedication of Prasanna and Arpana these girls have been given a bright future.

He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Philippians 1:6

The Project

Homelessness and trafficking of girls in India are critical issues, with UNICEF estimating 18 million street children in the country in 2000. Prasanna and Arpana experienced this firsthand when three homeless, abused girls knocked on their door seeking shelter. This encounter inspired them to create Sano Diyo “A little lighthouse,” which now provides a safe haven for girls, protecting them from trafficking and offering them a brighter future.

Objectives

  • Share & Care Project: Provide breakfast, literacy, self-care lessons, and Bible study to children and their families each Saturday, aiming to expand to more communities.
  • Enhance health awareness and hygiene in rural areas through educational programs, focusing on nutrition, sanitation, and overall well-being, supported by volunteer professionals.
  • Vocational Training Centre: equipping women with skills for employment and self-support.

With your support, Sano Diyo has offered a safe haven and education to girls at risk of trafficking, transforming their lives and futures. Thank you for helping us provide them with opportunities for growth and success, and for making a lasting impact in their communities.

Impact

Sano Diyo’s initiatives provide safety, education, and medical care to vulnerable girls. By offering a secure environment, essential learning, and health support, we empower girls to overcome adversity, achieve independence, and transform their communities, creating lasting, positive change in their lives.

Annually, we need to raise $40,000 to maintain and grow our efforts at Sano Diyo. Your contributions will ensure we continue offering protection, education, and medical support to at-risk girls, enabling them to build better futures and drive positive change in their communities.
